One of the best mailing lists to join is Blue Web'n. Blue Web'n is an online library of 1200+ outstanding Internet sites categorized by subject, grade level, and format (lessons, activities, projects, resources, references, & tools). You can search by grade level (Refined Search), broad subject area (Content Areas), or specific sub-categories (Subject Area). Each week 5 new sites are added. You can get a list and description of these additions sent to you by signing up for free weekly updates! CIT Infobits (formerly titled IAT Infobits) is an electronic service of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Academic & Technology Networks' Center for Instructional Technology. Each month the CIT's Information Resources Consultant monitors and selects from a number of information and instructional technology sources that come to her attention and provides brief notes for electronic dissemination to educators. Kathy Schrock’s Guide for Educators Updated listing of Websites of interest to educators. She also includes other useful tools such as Web evaluation guides. A free weekly listing of education super sites is provided. By subscribing to the monthly journal, you will receive lesson ideas and ways to use computer technology in the classroom. Three Internet columns are posted on the Web with curriculum and how to information. It is a great resource for teachers and library media professionals. The Networks covers the nuts and bolts of software and hardware, Voices of Web focuses on school created and maintained home pages, and CyberBee takes an in-depth look at the best curriculum Websites. Classroom Connect's Net-Happenings Daily posting of new Websites. The Scout Report is the flagship publication of the Internet Scout Project. Published every Friday both on the web and by e-mail, it provides a fast, convenient way to stay informed of valuable resources on the Internet. A team of professional librarians and subject matter experts select, research, and annotate each resource. |
