Equipment and Software Needed:

Taking Photographs

Take a series of pictures. Make sure the object is in the center of the rotating device. Use a backdrop with a non-reflecting light or dark contrasting color. Construction paper or cloth will work. Cover the rotating device with the same color. If you use a Lazy Susan, rotate the base in small measured increments. You can either make marks on the base or glue a cloth tape measure around the base. Be sure to mark a point on the table to use for lining up the marks as you rotate the base. If you use an 80 tray carousel, click forward (counter clockwise) or reverse (clockwise) 2 times.

Using Spin PhotoObject Software (Macintosh or Windows)

1. Get Photos. Click on browse.

Find the files to import into the Preview Palette window. Open the folder, then select it.

TIP: Keep your picture files together. Do not mix text files and pictures.

Insert the photographs from the Preview Palette into the Editing Area. You can select individual pictures or all of them.

Once you have made your selections, a processing screen will appear. This may take a few minutes.

After processing, you will see your photographs in the Editing Area.

2. Align

If you did not keep your camera perfectly stationary, you may want to adjust the alignment of the photographs.

3. Crop

You can change the height and width of the movie by dragging on the crop handles.

4. Create

You can convert the object in the editing area into QuickTime VR, AVI, QuickTime movie, GIF Animation, or still images.

Select the type of conversion you want and then click on create.
